Heavy Duty Custom Vinyl Banners (18 oz)

When a banner has to survive the elements day after day — over-the-street signage, road banners, construction-site notices, tent-sale drapes — 18 oz is our strongest, thickest vinyl. It's built on the highest denier in the industry for tear resistance, printed in full CMYK with UV-resistant inks, and finished with heat-welded hems and grommets standard, not upsold.

Helpful Resources

Why 18 oz?

18 oz Matte Vinyl, 1000x1000 Denier

The highest denier — and highest tear resistance — in the industry. Waterproof, fade resistant, and built to hold up to five years or more outdoors: over-the-street banners, building drapes, construction signage and anywhere a banner takes daily wear.

Need something lighter?

If your banner will live indoors or see only mild outdoor exposure, our 13 oz Standard Vinyl Banners or 15 oz Premium High Definition Vinyl Banners are lighter to handle at a lower weight. For sizes beyond 9'x30', see our Large Format Vinyl Banners.

Sizes, Orientation & Specs

Order from 2' x 2' up to 9' x 30', in Landscape (horizontal: H x W) or Portrait (vertical: W x H) orientation, single- or double-sided.

Need a custom size? Select the closest larger size and note your exact dimensions in the design instructions — we'll trim it to spec at no extra charge.

Sizing tolerance: finished dimensions may vary by up to 1 inch on small format banners, or up to 10% on large format banners.

Finishing Options

  • Grommets & Hemming — Heat-welded hems with rust-resistant metal grommets, included at no extra charge. Grommets are placed 0.5" from the edge.
  • Hemming Only — Reinforced heat-welded edges without grommets.
  • None — Raw cut edge, no finishing.
  • Pole Pockets (optional) — 3" flat pole pockets sized to fit a 1" diameter pole, available on the top, bottom, top & bottom, or both sides.
  • Edge Velcro (optional) — Add hook-and-loop fastening along the edge; specify placement in your design instructions.
  • Pantone Color Match (optional) — Match a specific Pantone color for brand consistency. Provide your Pantone number in the design instructions.

Safe zone: keep all important artwork, text and logos at least 1.75" inside the edge so nothing is covered by the grommets.

Artwork & Design

Have print-ready art? Upload it during checkout at full print size with a 0.25" bleed on every edge (a 3'x8' banner, for example, would be set up at 36.5"x96.5"). For the sharpest results, we recommend a minimum of 100 ppi at full print size. Download a template from the resources above, use our online design tool, or hire one of our designers to build it for you. Our design team reviews every order's artwork and sends a digital proof with unlimited revisions before anything goes to print.

  • Using AI-generated artwork? Most AI image generators output low-resolution files. Your art must meet at least 150 DPI at your actual print size (300 DPI is always recommended) — you may need to run it through an AI upscaling tool before submitting.
  • Check for artifacts: Review AI-generated art at 100% zoom before you submit it. AI tools can introduce spelling errors, distorted details, or blurred backgrounds — we print exactly what's provided, so fix these before sending your file.
  • File format: Export as a high-resolution PNG, JPG or PDF. If your AI tool generated a logo or graphic, we recommend running it through a vectorization tool first and submitting it as an AI, EPS or SVG file.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes 18 oz vinyl different from 13 oz?
18 oz vinyl uses the highest denier in the industry, giving it much greater tear resistance for extended outdoor exposure and daily wear-and-tear — road banners, over-the-street signage and construction sites. Our 13 oz vinyl banner is lighter to handle and better suited to indoor or mild outdoor use.
How long will an 18 oz banner last outdoors?
These banners are fade resistant for five years or more, and the 1000x1000 denier vinyl resists tearing under everyday outdoor wear.
What are pole pockets for?
Pole pockets create a sleeve for sliding a pole through, which is useful for frame-mounted or pole-hung banners instead of hanging with grommets and rope or S-hooks.
How accurate is the finished size of my banner?
Finished dimensions may vary by up to 1 inch on small format banners, or up to 10% on large format banners.
